Fireworks in Congress and in Durham, NC

The end of June brought much anticipation.  For some, the anticipation surrounded the closing of their home loans by June 30th so they would be eligible for the first time home-buyer tax credit.  Thankfully, Congress realized that it was impossible for many lenders to close that volume of loans and they approved a bill to extend the date by which those loans had to closed.  This new bill only applies to those clients that were under contract by April 30th, 2010.  Many thanks to the clients I worked with toward their first time purchase.  It is truly rewarding to see your faces opening the door to your new home.

Now the rest of us were looking forward to the Independence Holiday.  The 4th of July has always been a big deal in the Reed household and this year didn’t disappoint.  In addition to good food, good family and good fun, we had the pleasure of watching the fireworks which were held following the Durham Bulls game Sunday night.  The Durham Bulls is our hometown Baseball team and for those readers looking for more info, check out their website and go to a game. You WILL have FUN!

The fireworks were awesome and we all had a great time reflecting on our country, and what America means to us.  I’ve lived in Durham for years and I gotta tell you, when it comes to celebrations…Durham doesn’t disappoint!!!
